Inspired by Lahmacun, this Middle Eastern-style flatbread takes the form of a quesadilla: topped, folded and grilled to perfection. Traditional Lahmacun flavours shine through in the savoury beef mince, rich tomatoes, warm paprika, fragrant mint, creamy yoghurt and the deep spice of harissa and garlic. The addition of cheese delivers a sweet, caramelised richness, while grilling creates a warm, comforting dish that blends Middle Eastern spice with the indulgent melt of a quesadilla.

Preparation

  1. What you need

    • Select the number of serves you require for this recipe, and the quantity of ingredients will be automatically adjusted accordingly.
  2. Quesadilla filling

    • In a bowl, combine the beef mince with Knorr Italiana Pronto Napoli, paprika, Knorr Rich Brown Gravy and za’atar. Mix well until evenly incorporated. 
    • Spread the mixture evenly over the flour tortillas.
  3. Harissa dip

    • Combine yoghurt, harissa, mint and garlic in a bowl. Mix well and set aside.
  4. To assemble

    • Top the tortillas already spread with the beef mixture with sliced brown onion. Add a layer of shredded cheddar over the top.
    • Fold and grill on a flat top until golden, crisp and the cheese has melted.
  5. To serve

    • Serve the golden quesadillas with a side of harissa dip and a seasonal mixed lettuce salad.
